FAVOURITE BARTWOSKI FAMILY SCENE?
Chuck vs. The Pilot (1.01) - Group Hug.
There’s nothing particularly special, memorable or important about this scene. Except that it encompasses the beautiful ‘family’ that the Bartowski siblings have made for themselves, one that continues to grow throughout the series. And that after the life-changing events of Chuck’s day/night, he can come home to something normal with the people who mean most to him.
FAVOURITE SONG USED?
Frightened Rabbit - Keep Yourself Warm (Chuck vs. The Fat Lady).
This was another really hard one to pick - Chuck uses so many fantastic artists, bands and songs! I eventually chose this one because the song is used incredibly well at a crucial moment in 2.07. Notable mentions go to Oasis - Don’t Look Back In Anger (1.07), Slow Club - Christmas TV (2.22) and Matt Costa - Astair (3.07).

FAVOURITE GUEST STAR?
Matt Bomer. This just may have been the hardest question of all. I like a LOT of the guest stars they have on Chuck - I especially enjoyed Scott Bakula, Summer Glau and Tony Hale. But when it comes down to the characters they play, I can never go past Bryce Larkin. I loved everything about him; from the way they introduced him as a villian to the way he died a big damn hero and every gorram thing in between.
FAVOURITE SARAH WALKER LINE?
“What makes you special is that you’re not like every other spy. You’re a good guy and you want to help people. Leave the deception to me.”
— Chuck vs. The Gravitron (2.08)
I’ve realised that the best Sarah Walker lines are usually the ones about or directed to Chuck. I like her, ‘You are that guy’ line but this one seems to encapsulate the respect she has for him as a spy, the need to protect him as an asset and how much she cares about him as a person.
FAVOURITE TEAM BARTOWSKI MOMENT?
Chuck vs. The Truth (1.08) - Breaking In.
I don’t think I’ve ever gotten tired of this series of moments - it could go as far as to include Sarah calling Casey her “partner” but it’s getting into the apartment that I enjoy the most. Action, giggles and “spy stuff”, all in one.
FAVOURITE JEFFSTER SCENE?
Chuck vs. The Ring (2.22) - Mr. Roboto.
For me, the crowning moment of Jeffster will always be their performance of Fat Bottomed Girls at SDCC 2009. But since that wasn’t part of the show itself (Blast!), I’ll have to go with their hilarious performance at Devon and Ellie’s faux wedding. Their ridiculous costumes and bravado, the reaction from the guests and Casey’s team infiltrating the reception room make it all the more awesome.
FAVOURITE QUOTE?
“Don’t freak out.” There were a lot of big monologues or ‘meaningful’ conversations that I considered putting down here but I love recurring themes and this is one of them. From the very first episode right up until season four, these three words have been such a major part of the Chuck/Sarah relationship and used in situations ranging from ordinary to life-threatening.
FAVOURITE GENERAL BECKMAN SCENE/QUOTE?
Chuck vs. The Predator (2.17) - Casey’s Apartment.
This is the first time we see General Beckman in Burbank with Team Bartowski and she is, to borrow Chuck’s adjective, “tiny”! But in this scene she asserts her authority over the towering Colonel Casey with this fantastically condescending one-liner.
LEAST FAVOURITE CHARACTER?
Ellie Bartowski. This one’s a no-brainer. I think Sarah Lancaster is absolutely gorgeous but it seems like Ellie Bartowski is never satisfied. She has a brother with great values, an ‘awesome’ husband and a great career but there is always something she can find to complain about! I have to admit that she slightly grew on me by leaping into action after her father was murdered but for most of the series, she’s been an overbearing ingrate.
LEAST FAVOURITE EPISODE?
Chuck vs. The Cat Squad (4.15).
As I’ve said before, season four is my least favourite but of all the episodes within, this is the worst. I’m sure they were going for kitschy irony and I love a lot of the episodes that feature a back story, but there wasn’t any part of this that I found clever or funny. It didn’t enhance any of the story lines or characters, it was predictable and so obviously a filler. Very disappointing.
